Prototek Precision Sheetmetal Fabrication, Rapid Protoyping of Sheet metal and Machine Products for high technology industry.
Prototek soon to appear on CNBC and Fox Business News, Subject:Complexities of Rapid Prototyping in the 21st Centure. Click Here for preview.
Prototek Manufacturing started in October of 1987 specializing in Rapid Prototyping of Precision sheetmetal for the hi-tech industries. We currently have 65 employees and have expanded into rapid turn machined parts, SLA and 3D printing.
Due to the nature of our business, Prototek was having difficulty with same day to 1 week turn times. Tight deliveries from our qualified OP vendors were becoming more difficult, they were running out of capacity for our increased volume of our prototypes. Decreased quality and extended lead-times was inevitable, Prototek started an in-house powder coating, painting, silk screening and plating. This gave us full control over quality and same day finish.
The next big obstacle, Prototek was operating 3 shifts for Punching and Laser cutting we were running at 90% capacity. Second, we would punch some parts on our Amada Vipros then take those same parts and laser cut complex contours on our 4000 watt Amada Pulsar laser. We spoke with Steve Yongsma with Amada America and he suggested the new Amada LC-C1 Laser/punch combo that has 4 built in tapping heads, the machine also Countersinks and has 3 forming stations.
We installed the Amada LC-C1 about 3 months ago and it has been great, I had 6 employees working in my secondaries department countersinking and tapping and now we are down to 2 full time employees and advanced the other 4 to other departments. Prototek continues to be the fastest rapid prototype company in the country (maybe the world). BTW, sales have increased by another 15% and we are now running only 2 shifts in our Laser, Punch and Combo departments at 80% capacity!! The LC-C1 is the perfect Protoype Manufacturing Cell for Prototek.
We are currently and ISO 9001:2008. We are also ITAR and DFAR compliant.
Our Facility is a new 40,000 sq ft Building.
