Vienna VA-MicroTech President & CEO Anthony "Tony" Jimenez has been named to Federal Computer Week's annual Federal 100 - a distinguished list of 100 leaders who had a substantial impact on the Government Information Technology (IT) community in 2009. Professionals from Government, Industry and Academia are honored for their efforts in affecting change, progress and efficiency in determining how the Federal government acquires, develops and manages IT.

This year's winners, chosen by a select panel of government and industry leaders, add up to 30 from the commercial industry, and 70 from the Federal government; 42 at civilian agencies and 28 in the Defense sector. Along with MicroTech's Tony Jimenez, the list also includes such notable IT figures as Federal Chief Information Officer (CIO) Vivek Kundra; CACI International CEO Paul Cofoni; US Department of Veteran Affairs CIO Roger Baker; and Founder of Craigslist, Craig Newmark.

According to Federal Computer Week, judges select leading technology professionals who have made a noticeable difference in an agency or in the IT community at large; individuals whose vision, passion, innovation, and pioneering spirit have impacted and transformed Federal IT.

"It's quite an honor to join such an accomplished group," Jimenez said. "The award reflects the substantial success MicroTech enjoyed last year, breaking new ground for small businesses in the Federal IT marketplace. Our 2009 success began with the USDA contract - which we won early in the year - and continued with a rising number of substantial contracts with a wide range of Federal agencies."

Actively involved in the Federal contracting community, Jimenez has testified before Congress and the Senate, and has drafted and reviewed legislation designed to improve opportunities for small business owners. He recently joined with other business, labor, academic and nonprofit leaders to lend their insights to the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board (PERAB). In just the last year, his recognition as a Small Business leader has led to awards like the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) "Veteran Champion of the Year," the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce "Corporate Business Advocate of the Year," and the Virginia Hispanic Chamber's "Entrepreneur of the Year."

"MicroTech is committed to the Federal IT community," Jimenez said. "And we will continue our positive efforts to affect change, progress, and efficiencies in the Federal use of Information Technology."
