FBI-SOS Program Announces Relaunch of Website and adds a Twitter Account
Following months of research, planning and development, the FBI-SOS (Safe Online Surfing) Internet Challenge is pleased to announce the relaunch of its website, fbi-sos.org .
The new website delivers a fresh, new look and feel for the educational initiative which was developed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Nova Southeastern University’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services six years ago. Principals, teachers and students will have an even easier navigational experience with the new layout and should be able to take advantage of more key information that will reside on the home page.
Program Director Daryl Hulce was very pleased with the final result of the re-design which enables his team to provides its audience with an upgraded visual experience and functionality to go along with the opportunity to deliver more robust content on the website's landing page.
“The new FBI-SOS.org website gives us the flexibility to share current internet safety and cyber citizenship information to our visitors,” said Hulce. “The simplicity of the site has been maintained so it is obvious to new visitors where to click to participate in the program.”
The FBI-SOS Internet Challenge also enhanced its online presence this month with the addition a Twitter account (FBI_SOS). Twitter was added to be an extremely fluid communication vehicle to provide a wide-variety of information on the FBI-SOS Internet Challenge for principals, teachers, students and media. The Tweets will cover topics including tips, contest standings, links to media coverage on the program and links to online stories that may be of interest to our followers.
About the Program
The FBI-SOS (Safe Online Surfing) Internet Challenge is an FBI Cyber Division national initiative designed by Nova Southeastern University’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services in Ft. Lauderdale in partnership with the FBI's Miami Division office.
The FBI is committed to provide access to a quality internet safety program, free of charge. The FBI-SOS Internet Challenge is setup for students in third (3rd) through eighth (8th) grade. Since its inception in 2005, schools from 40 states have implemented the program for their students.
Program administrators from Nova Southeastern University's Fischler School of Education and Human Services and the FBI are available for media interviews and speaking engagements.
